During our October meeting on 10/18/12, we discussed adopting a family at Christmas and everyone shared alot of great ideas! We chose a family based on Pastor Scott's recommendation. It was decided that we will take up a collection of money (within our SIC group) and provide our adopted family with a food store gift certificate for a prepared ham or turkey dinner and if there are funds left over we will make up a gift basket of goodies and/or small gifts for the family.
You may donate any amount of money you feel comfortable in giving to this project, or you may choose not to participate. And that's okay. I have placed an envelope in my (Kelly Reynolds) mailbox in the overflow room for you to place your donations. We will collect money up until our next meeting on November 13th. At that time, we will discuss details on purchasing the food store gift certificate and see what funds are leftover.
Jessica gave a very meaningful and heartfelt testimony and we LOVE her for that! We also welcomed a new sister to the group, Terry Hinkel -- WELCOME TERRY! Lastly, I would like to personally thank all the sisters for helping prepare the place cards for Pastor Scott's dinner celebration.
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, November 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the Grove. (Please note the Tuesday meeting date and earlier meeting time).
We will be baking cookies and getting into the Christmas spirit. Bring 1 batch of already prepared cookie dough, your cookie sheets and aprons. See you then!
