How a Christian is Like a Pumpkin

At our last meeting on October 17, we all learned how a Christian is like a pumpkin. Judy shared with us the following message:

God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off you may have gotten from the other pumpkins.
Then he cuts the top off and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.

I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. (Ezekiel 36:25b-27)

What fun we all had decorating our pumpkins! I never knew we had such a creative bunch!

Thanks to everyone for their generous donations towards the Operation Christmas Child/Samaritan's Purse shoe boxes. We assembled 5 shoe boxes in all!

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 21 in the Grove at 6:30 p.m. We will be baking cookies to donate to our shut-ins and to the Cookie Walk. We will preserve the cookies in the freezer until those events occur. Please bring one batch (2-3 dozen) of already prepared cookie dough and your cookie sheets. Freezer bags will be supplied. No need to bring a snack, as we will have plenty of cookies to sample!

**Jessica will be presenting the devotional**

++We will also be discussing our Adopt a Family service project ++
